My name is Yael Schonfeld, and my journey into desserts began unexpectedly. After leaving a pastry chef role I truly loved, the demands of daily travel no longer fit my life as a mother.
It was a difficult moment, filled with uncertainty about what would come next.

One day, a friend asked if I could recreate a pavlova I used to make at the steakhouse for her birthday. I agreed, without expectations. She loved it and insisted I start selling my desserts. Before I could even consider it, she shared it on Instagram. Within minutes, messages started coming in.

That first week, I received over twenty orders from my small home kitchen. Soon after, people began asking what else I could make.
Each week, I created something new. A rotating menu, changing weekly. Without planning it, the VANIL concept was born.

I fell in love with the idea of weekly creation. I’m inspired by change, by new flavors, textures, and layers.
Every dessert feels like a new beginning, something carefully imagined and brought to life. The excitement never fades.

Because the menu changes every week, everything is made fresh from scratch. Week after week, we sell out.
Every Sunday, we begin again in our kitchen, working with a wonderful team, and creating with intention, care, and love.
